To encourage Filipino citizens to apply for their Philippine National ID (PhilID), the government has set up a number of satellite offices in public places such as shopping malls and offices, to name a few. The distribution of cards is the next step now that the people of the Philippines have expressed interest in the government's initiative to establish the National ID System.

Here's how to check the status of your Philippine National ID delivery.

The Philippine National Identification Card

Presenting a valid ID is required to begin processing transactions such as getting a real estate investment with Bria Homes, simply opening a mobile phone line, or merely availing of discounts or perks. This PhilID or National ID, according to Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the "Philippine Identification System Act," serves as a valid proof of identity for all transactions and facilitates seamless service delivery. It would serve as the government's primary identity system for all Filipinos and foreign residents.

How can I obtain a PhilID?

Filipinos can easily walk in, register, and apply for the PilID because PhilSys kiosks are located in satellite offices throughout the Philippines. They are usually found in shopping malls or workplaces. However, the first step is to register online.

Step 1 – Register online by clicking here.

You will be asked for your demographic profile in this registration portal:

  • Gender
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Birthplace
  • Blood Type
  • Home Address
  • Marital Status
  • Contact Number
  • Email Address

After gathering the data, you make an appointment and move on to Step 2.

Step 2 – On the day of the appointment, go to the designated registration center.

You will be asked for the transaction number at the registration center. You may proceed to have your biometric information processed once the information has been validated:

  • Fingerprint
  • Iris scan
  • Front-facing paragraph

Step 3 – Be patient while your National ID or PhilID card is delivered to your home.

The National ID will be delivered to your home as soon as it is ready. Remember that this information is confidential and should not be shared on social media.

How to Check the Status of Your National Identification Card

You can visit the Philippine Postal Corp (PHLPost) website by clicking on this link.

Step 1 – Look over your transaction slip and write down your transaction number.

This transaction slip is what you were given when you registered at the satellite office. A tracking number is a 29-digit number used in the PHL Post tracker to determine the status of the National ID. Keep in mind that the transaction slip is essential and required for tracking the status of your national ID. This tracking number and the valid ID must be presented to the person delivering the ID. It will confirm that you have received your ID.

Step 2 – Click here to access the PHL Post Tracker.

Step 3 – Enter your transaction number and click "Track."

Step 4 – Verify the delivery status of your National ID.

If the status is "Not Found," it means that the ID is still being processed and that you will have to wait for it to be processed.

2. How do I know if my National ID card is ready?

Upon checking in the PHL Post Tracker in this link, if the status displayed says "In Transit", it means that it is already available and is dispatched for delivery on the way to the registered address.

3. How long will the National ID be delivered?

In the registration center, the expectation was set that it will take a while, like about 2 to 3 months to process the said National ID. However, some say that it might take longer because of the security features it entails, thus having it about 6 months. But, due to the demand and almost millions of Filipinos applying for the Philippine National ID already, it would still need more time and may take more than just 6 months for you to receive the PhilID.

However, in times that you cannot wait for the delivery, you may go to the local post office of your area and claim your ID if it is already available by presenting your transaction slip and any valid ID.

4. Where can I follow up on my Philippine National ID issuance?

To track the status of your national ID, you may check with PhilSys Registry Office by calling the hotline 1388 or sending an email to info@philsys.gov.ph. However, there are circumstances in which you can check out the tracking system through your transaction number to check the item's status.

5. Is the National ID's delivery free of charge?

Yes, it will be delivered for free by PHLPost. Just make sure to expect it at the registered delivery address indicated.

6. How to claim the National ID?

It will be delivered right straight to your registered delivery address. If you are not at home to claim it, the PHLPost will try at most three times to deliver the National ID. Otherwise, it will be held in the designated Post Office and will be there for 30 calendar days. As proof to claim it, a transaction slip or a valid ID may be required proof of identity.

7. How long is a National ID valid once it is issued?

Once it is issued, it has no expiration date anymore. It shall be valid as long as the information demographically or biometrically has changed or if it is defective.

Having a national ID is more convenient since you only have to maintain just one ID. It is better to have a national ID just like all the other countries as proof of identification so that the government services may be fully enjoyed by the citizen. No matter what transaction you have, whether with OFW investment or Pag-IBIG Home loans or just receiving an item, you must have identification. It is pretty easy to apply and get the Phil National ID. It may just require a huge amount of patience. You may track the status of your national ID via their Facebook page, their website, or you can check walk-in.
